Frequency uses a modulated vertical line suggestive of a computer plot or a scanning beam, or perhaps the visual distortion seen through reeded glass. The lines are tapered towards the ends and also become thinner to the sides, giving both a vertical and horizontal shading effect. Internal counters are often crossed by thin connecting hairlines. Used in larger sizes and shorter settings the details come to the fore, but it is surprisingly readable in smaller sizes too. Suitable for technological, futuristic or supernatural subjects where an unusual and arresting treatment is paramount.
