Collection: Gonzalez
Gonzalez is taken more-or-less directly from the spray-painted lettering used on US military hardware, these examples having been photographed in situ on the aircraft carrier USS Midway. Commissioned a week after the end of World War II, the Midway was the largest ship in the world until 1955. It served for 47 years, seeing action in the Vietnam War and the Persian Gulf in 1991’s Operation Desert Storm. Decommissioned in 1992, it is now a museum, permanently moored off the coast of San Diego, California.
