Collection: Psientist

Psientist is a condensed sans with a rectangular exterior and rounded interior counters. The widths of the counters and letterspaces are equal, giving the font a regular vertical rhythm, especially in the compressed and condensed weights. Originally inspired by a memory of the logo for the 1960s British espionage drama The Champions, it is also distantly related to a 1970s Rapitype design called Cybernetic. Billed as “second generation dry transfer” lettering, Rapitype sold a range of rubdown sheets similar to Letraset. Psientist is effective when several weights are combined, giving a crisp, graphic result. Round exterior corners are used on the D and V to otherwise differentiate them from the O and the U. Alternatives with wider, looping tails are available for the lowercase r and t.
